Shantel & Chris - High Park Cherry Blossom Engagement Shoot

We couldn't have asked for better lighting or a more beautiful location for Shantel & Chris' engagement shoot. We went over to High Park to see the Sakura trees in bloom with their stunning cherry blossoms. Even though I've been in Toronto for four years, it's something I've never done before. Now I'm going to mark my calendar each year as it's such a beautiful sight to behold.

Shantel & Chris are proof that you don't need a lot of bells and whistles to have a stunning engagement shoot. They dressed in casual attire that was true to their personal style and brought a gorgeous printed blanket that perfectly matched their outfits! They got extra credit from me for how well it matched! 

The ingredient that made their shoot so successful was that they are just so head over heels for each other. I shot so many frames because every time I pointed my lens at them they were genuinely laughing and cuddling. I also had a smile on my face during the whole editing process because the images just looked so natural, so perfect. I can't wait until August when they get married in a forest and I get to witness that realness again!

The Wedding Co. Feature - Deanna & Adam

Deanna & Adam's Engagement Shoot was recently featured on The Wedding Co. It was such a lovely shoot that I am really proud of. Sara & Scott - Maternity Shoot at High Park

Sara & Scott have been long time clients and friends. They were the first couple to ask me to shoot their wedding and they have since entrusted me with documenting their special moments.

These two are about to welcome their first child into the world and I couldn't be happier for them. Little 'Norbie' (the hilarious fake name they have given this special little person) will be in wonderful, loving hands. This child will have the best parents because they know how to laugh and have fun with one another. 

We had a really great night together, catching up and wandering around High Park to get the best light! They even brought Brooklyn their beloved pup along who will no doubt be a big part of little Norbie's upbringing.

Family Photoshoot at Trinity Square & Ryerson University

Sarabeth had the great idea of asking her boyfriend as well as her brother and his wife to do a joint family photoshoot as a present to all of their respective parents. It was like a double engagement shoot as well as a family shoot! We even got some nice portraits in of each of them as individuals.

We started the day at Trinity Square. A secret hideaway behind the Eaton Centre. We then made our way over the Ryerson Campus to finish our day and take advantage of the beautiful nature there. Ryerson was not initially on my list of places to shoot but they have a beautiful courtyard that made for a lush green setting. We had a great time laughing and being just a little bit cheesy throughout the day. 

Sarabeth is a great example of doing a photoshoot just to have some great pictures of you and your loved ones! And judging by the email she sent me letting me know that her boyfriend Dwayne's mom cried after receiving the photos, they make a perfect gift!

Carol Anne & Pat at The Army Officers Mess in Ottawa

Carol Anne & Pat had a lovely and thoughtful wedding in Ottawa. They started out in a non denominational chapel in the rural outskirts and celebrated at the unique venue the Army Officers Mess in Ottawa. After meeting Carol Anne & Pat (and a litter of kittens they were fostering!) at one our first meetings, I knew we would be a good fit for each other. Adorable kittens aside, this couple knows exactly what they want and it was clear in their beautiful day as well as their sincere and deliberate love for each other. One of my favourite parts of their wedding was their speeches. I always feel that speeches can set the tone for the wedding and also give true insight into the couples' relationship. Seeing friends and family put so much effort and love into their speeches showed me just how much Carol Anne & Pat are loved by their community. My favourite was Maid of Honour Amberlyn and Groomsman Travis singing The Mouldy Peaches to the newly weds!
